I finally got to come home for the first time in a long, long time this summer. For not just the past few days, but the drive home as well, I have had one single song stuck in my head. By pure chance I stumbled upon the live performance of Ed Sheeran’s “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.”

I totally forgot how he kills this song. He takes a four minute gem from his debut album and turns it into an 11+ minute epic. He loops on the fly. He makes up numerous new verses. He, for no reason, breaks into the chorus of 50 Cent’s “In Da Club.”

Everything about this is perfect. Enjoy your friday and enjoy the masterwork of my fellow Irishman.
