During the last few weeks of the Sony Hack a few things have been made clear to people that were otherwise private to the movie industry. One tidbit that has come around in the past few days has been that Sony may have already picked who they want to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond. That man is Idris Elba.

Craig, who has been Bond for three movies including Skyfall – one of my favorite movies of the decade – is only signed on to do one more Bond movie past the in-production Spectre. Craig has expressed an interest in leaving the role after this current contract ends. This would allow the endlessly suave Elba take the role.

Elba was critically acclaimed for his roles as Stringer Bell in The Wire and John Luther in Luther. But let’s be real, we know him from this:

Holy shit he needs to be our James Bond. This is the best thing to come out of the Sony Hack. Make this happen.
