Despite the fact that it’s currently 45 degrees (wind chill brings the actual temperature closer to 35) and raining the contestants in this year’s Boston Marathon are still going strong. As always, this is quite possibly the best day of the year. No amount of relatively poor weather – it was just 70 a few days ago – can change that this is an incredible day for one of the best cities on the planet.

Marathon Monday is always best when spent with friends and in appreciation of the incredible, world-class athletes that push themselves harder than ever right in front of us. There were cases of frostbite today. In case the prospect of 26 miles wasn’t enough, they had to do it in absolutely atrocious conditions. I cannot even fathom to imagine running the marathon. This gets more and more incredible every year.

We will continue to celebrate Patriot’s Day and Marathon Monday for the remainder of the day. And then, it’s only 365 more days until Boston’s favorite holiday returns.
