Here’s something I didn’t think I’d get to write a few days ago, it’s not going to snow all that much in Boston this weekend. That was a sudden change from the original forecasts for this weekend’s winter storm ready and currently beginning to destroy the Mid-Atlantic.

When I started up the semester I thought that our first week would be capped off by a reported foot of snow in Boston. Terrific, another massive storm and obstacle in trying to get around the city. The good news is that is no longer the case. We can rest easily knowing we are only getting a slight snow – an inch or two at the most. Nothing that we haven’t literally gotten in the past week or so.

Meanwhile my friends that are currently in DC or Philadelphia are going to be slammed with snow. Like, obliterated. Think upwards of three feet at once. I’ve been there, unfortunately, and it isn’t fun.

So here’s my advice: Go out now and stock up on supplies, especially Cinnamon Bun Oreos, and be prepared for a weekend of staying inside under a blanket. It’s going to be scary out there, but the right snacks can get you through anything.

I, however, will be going outside on Saturday in a t-shirt and shorts to celebrate. I don’t care that we are apparently getting winds of close to 30-40 MPH, it’s not snowing much. Moral Victory.

Stay strong, my friends. The spring shall return eventually.
