Last night marked the public premiere of LIVE from North College, the film project I worked on this semester with my friends Alicia Jade, Mike Damiano, and Luxi Xiao. For roughly the last two and a half months the four of us have been working on this film in some capacity from writing and re-writing the script, making college t-shirts and sweatshirts, casting actors and extras, scouting and confirming locations, actually filming the thing, and for Mike and Alicia especially editing down nearly an hour of raw footage to the final 7 minute project that we have officially handed in for a grade.

This experience was simultaneously one of the most stressful and rewarding of our collective lives. There is so much work that goes into making a movie that it would cause your head to spin. It’s surreal, and exhausting. But after going through rounds of edits through this process, and getting great feedback from our professor Sam Kauffmann and classmates, we have come away with a movie we are all proud of.

As we reach the end of this semester I want to thank Alicia, Mike, and Luxi for putting up with my madness through everything and for working their respective asses off to make this movie as great as we could. Without the three of them this wonderful project wouldn’t be, and they all deserve major credit for their help and dedication to the amazing fake institution that is North College. Additionally I want to thank everyone that came out and helped us with filming this movie. Our actors ended up incredible and fun to work with – especially our star, Joel-Michael Martin, who was scarily close to Jacob without having to act much.

Without further ado, I give you LIVE from North College.
