Ed Sheeran v. Marvin Gaye

Well now we have a very interesting court case coming out of the UK. I’m a sucker for any musical controversy about artists copying or stealing songs, and reveled in the madness that was the “Blurred Lines” case where Robin Thicke and Pharrell were found to have basically ripped off a Marvin Gaye song. Maybe Ed Sheeran did too?

The family of Marvin Gaye, apparently in heat check mode from their successful suit, is suing Sheeran over allegedly copying the majority of “Let’s Get It On” for “Thinking Out Loud”. Now this is preposterous, obviously Sheeran didn’t rip Gaye off… right?

Ladies and gentlemen, things just got interesting! Sorry Mom, I think there might actually be a case here. Bring on the depositions, and bring in the dancing lobsters.
