There’s nothing more wonderful than realizing you’ve made a perfect decision. The joy of having all of your hopes realized is one that is truly magical. I had a strong feeling when I was hired to do social media work at Boston University over the summer that it would be the right decision. I’m glad to say that it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Not only have my first two and a half weeks behind the Activities Information desk been terrific, but my time in Boston has been excellent as well. I’ve been blessed with awesome coworkers in Ryan Noll, Charina Ortega, Trisha Serquina, and Ayolah Ibezim. They make coming into the office every morning fun. It makes no sense to my brain that I actually look forward to working, yet here we are.

It’s also been fun for me personally to just be me for the purpose of the job. I don’t have to twist my brain into a pretzel or put on a mask to get through the day, No, instead I can make jokes about Step Brothers and The Simpsons and actually get complimented on it.

I firmly believe that if you love what you do you aren’t “working,” rather you’re just enjoying life. With this in mind I can genuinely say I’ve been loving life and loving a summer devoid of work.

Tonight the joined forces of BU Student Activities played intramural softball against the evil empire of Admissions. I was able to lead our team to a victory with my typical superstar level of performance.

By this I mean I weakly grounded out in two at bats while contributing sub-par defense but still. At least my sneakers were cool.

Surrounded by the terrific people of SAO and my fellow Mavens it was clear that I made an exceedingly smart decision to stay here this summer.

I’m not sure how it’s possible, but I’m finding even more reasons to love Boston University.
